It is a good idea to turn it off as soon as it whistles cause the longer it boils in the kettle or tea pot the more damage you will do to the pot or kettle. Let it set for a few minutes to get the strength of tea you like. The longer it sets the stronger it gets. Your not suppose to squeeze the tea bags because there is an oil or something that comes out that is not good for you.
