Substitute cookie recipe?
I'm doing a sugar cookie without eggs, the ingredients are 2 1 / 2 cup sugar 2 cup butter or butter 1 cup sour milk 2 teaspoons baking soda 2 tablespoons hot water 1 / 3 teaspoon salt, vanilla or other flavor 3tsp 8 c flour I have no sour milk soda and vanilla. Do you think you could substitute buttermilk with regular milk and vanilla with cocoa and instant coffee powder? And just out of the soda.
Add a teaspoon of 1 / 2. vinegar to sour milk. Sodium bicarbonate may not work well otherwise … It would be best to replace it with another extract vanilla. Otherwise, you're adding an ingredient to the dry mixture, rather than fluid and … would require a large amount of cocoa to flavor 8 c. flour, so that would change the consistency of the recipe. How about a little chocolate syrup? brandy?
