I found a Peach iced tea recipe in a cookbook at vromans and i cant find it again!?
I was looking through cookbooks at Vromans and I found one with a recipe for “Peach Iced Tea” The cookbook was by a guy and i cant remember his name for the life of me! The recipe didnt actually have tea in it, it had fresh peaches, mint and maybe ginger? Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
Ingredients
•Simple syrup:
•1 1/3 C sugar
•1 1/4 C water
•***************************
•Tea component:
•4 C water
•3 of your favorite kind of tea bags (I like white but black works well too)
•**************************
•Peach puree:
•1 pound white or yellow peaches
Directions
1.To make simple syrup: In a saucepan bring sugar and water to a boil, stirring, and boil until sugar is completely dissolved. Let syrup cool and chill, covered.
2.To make tea: Steep tea bags in hot water at least 5 minutes. I usually let them sit in the water as it cool but remove them before I put in the fridge.
3.To make peach puree:Peel, pit, and puree the peaches in a food mill; then strain through a fine sieve.
4.Combine all ingredients, chill and serve.
