Cleaning Linen clothe- over 50 yrs old?

I recently was lucky to find an Original British “tea towel” from 1953- the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth
It is labeled “pure linen” from Ireland– it is a bit yellowed from age but not badly- what would be the best way to “restore” it?

I wouldn’t try to restore it. Hand-washing it can deteriorate the fabric, even rip it. Vinegar will break down whatever is in the fabric, making it weaker. Detergent is a big no-no. Sunlight can actually yellow the cloth even more(It happens to many wedding dresses).

If it’s dusty, MAYBE soak it in warm water, gently move it about in the water, almost like a photo(no ringing, no scrubbing). Do not ring it out; lay it flat inside in a warm room on a white, chemical-free towel to dry it. Change the towel once or twice until it’s dry.

I really wouldn’t wash it. If anything, take it to an antique shop; preferably one recommended to you by a friend.
