What happens if you drink labrador tea during pregnancy?
I’m 36 weeks pregnant and-long story short- have been having contractions for the past few days. What will drinking labrador tea do to the baby? I was told to drink it to help speed the labor process along. Baby books say to stay away from it. Any ideas?
P.S. – It is very possible that I am 38 weeks and that my dates were miscalculated.
I’m not in labor. I’m having very irregular contractions and was told that drinking the tea would help regulate them and put me into true labor.
Honestly the reason they tell you that you can not have food and drink during labor is the fear of you choking and it getting into your lungs increasing the chances of pneumonia especially if you end up needing a c-section. It probably wouldn’t help “speed up” labor either. The only way I know to speed up labor is exercise moderately during the pregnancy.
