Can I boil water with my coffee pot?

My old tea pot broke, so my boyfriend bought me a coffee pot thinking it was the same thing. It’s a 18/8 stainless steel La Cafetiere Thermique French Press. I just want to know if I can use it to boil water like my old tea pot.
