My loose leaf tea is weak…just doesn’t taste right…?
I was in Teavana last week and they had the most amazing tea to sample. I just had to buy some. It was a combination of Rooibos Chai and a Yerba Mate.
So, I bought a tea infuser ball and followed their instructions implicitly (at this website)
http://www.teavana.com/c=how_to_prepare_tea/shop.axd/Static
However, I’ve done it twice and both times it’s come out what seams weak–it lacks the rich flavor it did at the store. What am I doing wrong? I am heating the water with an old-fashioned whistling teapot.
Also, if I wanted to make two cups at the time, how do I do it? My first attempt I tried a cup-and-a-half amount (with a proportionate amount of tea and time to steep) and it still tasted weak. Is there a chance I’m not heating my water hot enough?
I know you just bought it but if it’s not fresh it’ll taste weak. maybe double up on the amount of loose tea. ? It’s a bummer when your looking forward to something specific and it doesn’t hit the mark. good luck.
