I found little red worms in my iced tea. Why?

Not just in my glass, but in the jug. I made it myself earlier this week and it has been kept in the fridge. I use Luzianne decaf tea bags and SugarTwin sweetner.
They look like the blood worms I see in my pond filter, which is no where near my kitchen!
I am appalled and sickened!
