For what ceremony or ritual would you use Marbled Eggs?

12 Eggs
2tsp salt
3 tbsp light soy sauce
2 tbsp dark soy sauce
1 tsp five-spice powder
I tbsp red tea leaves

Preparation
1. Boil the eggs in water for 5-10 minutes. Remove and gently tap the shell of each egg with a spoon until it is cracked finely all over.
2. Place the eggs back in the pan and cover with fresh water. Add the salt, soy sauces, five-spice powder and tea leaves (the better the quality of the tea, the better the result). Bring to the boil and simmer for 30-40 minutes.. Leave the eggs to cool in the liquid.

To serve:
Peel off the shells – the eggs will have a beautiful marbled pattern.
If any of the answers come back to this question to see what was going on, that answerer might wish to do some editing after they read the recipe carefully. As well, I study all religions.

Nevertheless, I did state “would you use” in the question so no one is ruled out.

i’ve got some friends who like to serve marbled eggs with the “cholent” on the noon meal on shabbat. they use tea to marble the “huevos haminados” or just put it in the “cholent” to absorb the colour and some of the flavour of the stew.

i personally find the whole dish a bit heavy.
