What sets apart one party from another is how it is organized and decorated, whatever be the theme. A well decorated venue can become the life of the party and set the right ambience. And a fashionable event like a baby shower now commands an appropriate theme and décor. Parents or friends taking the initiative need to balance the idea with the right decoration. Now with unlimited ideas which can be sourced online, it has become easy to pick up design. If the guest list has already been finalized and it is a close knit one, then one needs to focus on the furnishings for the following-Tables, room, cake, gifts and game gifts, have some music to entertain. Women who already have older toddlers would like to invite friends who also have kids of the same age. Why not, build up sibling love instead of rivalry. Decorations can be made at home, bought online or purchased from the stores once the budget has been decided. Cartoon characters bring alive any kiddies event. And since this revolves round the unborn child, the other toddlers can enjoy the event too. But ensure that no cartoon characters are bought as it is not a birthday party, yet! The baby cute themes are usually successful if not done over the top with the usual pink and blue ribbons. Remember the mad hatter tea party of Alice in Wonderland. Why not have dainty cups and saucers for the organic tea. The table can be decorated with a nice lace table cloth. Put some interesting colored fresh flowers arranged by the florist. One can also mix and match ideas. If the party is being organized in the evening, have the walls of the room decorated with stars and shades of the night sky. Lullabies can be played softly in the background. But ensure that no guest goes off to sleep. Sweet smelling candles are also a great way to add to the décor. They can be put in some corners and on the middle of the table. They simply enhance the aroma and visual of the venue. On one end of the room hang a clothesline with baby clothes, soft toys, trinkets and cards. Other items from the nursery also can be added to the clothesline. Let mommy’s chair be decorated with a banner ‘welcome home Evelyn’! From the nursery take the bassinet and add the goodies and prizes of the games. Cover it with tulle trialing down but not in someone’s legs! If someone else is doing the catering for the party then ask if some carved watermelon can be introduced in the shape of a carriage or a toy. It can look delightful and a pleasant sight. If not anything else, fill the watermelon with other cut fruits just before dinner is announced. And if you really want a very successful party in town, invite some of the close guests the night before. Let them be a part of the decorating team. They will not only oblige but also feel they are a part of the family. This is a good idea when a couple does not have their family around.
