I just made breakfast for my husband and carried it to the porch the whole nine yards?

french toast, coffie in the china teapot , cream in the creamer, sugar in the sugar bowl and his favorite strawberry jelly now I have all this mess to clean up. He stayed on the phone the entire time with business and waved as he left still on the phone. We planned this last night or let me say I made an appointment last night to have breakfast and he could not give me five minutes. After years of marriage this is the way things are in the beginning he needed to work to buy a home then cars then rental property. I have never been materalistic I just want to enjoy life a little and I already know my husband will never stop working long enough to even have a uninterrupted meal with me. Should I call it quits or try enjoying the rest of my life alone while he spends the rest of his buying thinks to make him happy?

sounds like he enjoys what he does… why don’t you find a hobby or something you can do that you enjoy. My uncle is a physical trainer with Team USA (Miss. VA and Miss. USA). He is also a Command Sergeant Major in the Army and was in charge of all the VARNG forces in Virginia and he also owns three businesses.

You might ask what does that have to do with you, but I was talking to him a couple months ao (he’s like 43 now) and he said the one thing he regrets in life is not spending time with his family/not being able to spend them special moment with his kids. He retired from the national guard since then, held back on the physical training a little bit, and delegated tasks for the businesses he owns, because he has come to realize that family is very important and he has missed a lot and as much as he tries to make up for lost time in reality he can’t.

Point is people change, they see things over time that they couldn’t see before. maybe all the work he is doing he is doing because of you because he wants to give you a good life not knowing that your NEEDS are more emotional now than materialistic.

I went out with this girl for 4 years and gave her everything she left me and for awhile i wondered why, then i realized despite what i was doing in good faith in actuality i wasn’t meeting her Needs. Talk to your husband about it, keep pressing it on him and one day he will see that time is the most important gift you can give because time is something we all have a limited amount of and is something we cannot get back.
