Electric kettles unhealthy?

I am wondering if they are any doctors on here that could advise or any health experts. My wife was told by an experienced doctor just through random gossip that using electrical kettles for boiling water for tea and any other things is unhealthly over a period of years and causes the build up of kidney stones. The heating element pipe made out of iron mixes with the water and rusts she said which over time builds up and is why so many of my relatives and the wider community have kidney stone, not the only reason but could be a major factor. She recommended using the old fashion style of boiling water in a pan, which takes slightly longer but more beneficial to the body. Thx.
