What’s a good coffee along the lines of starbucks french roast.?

I don’t want to get tired of it, so am in search of the Grand cup of coffee. I like the small cans of double shot. How would one reproduce that flavor, or something simular. I buy beans and try a little to taste. All the left over beans are ground together at the end of a week or two for a rather “strange brew” if you would say. All ideas are welcome. Price of course is an issue. Good but inexpensive. Not kitty poo prices.
I also jot down what kind and quantity of beans I put in the special brew incase I come across a winner.

Something along the lines of Starbucks French Roast would deffinatly be Starbucks Italian Roast. Italian is the closest thing you can get to French. It is a very tasy alternative. IF you like doubleshots you would probobly like this. Starbucks put out an ice coffee in a can simply called Starbucks ice coffee. It is made with Italian Roast a nd is a very good alternative to doubleshots. If Italian is not your thing, check out Gold Coast also.
