Siphon Coffee Maker Help?
I am thinking about getting a siphon coffee maker. I am fascinated with the way they work and I hear that when used properly they make the best cup of coffee. What are your thoughts on these devices?
Also, I am looking at one machine in particular because of the low price (Northwest Glass Yama Stovetop Coffee Siphon). Does anyone have experience with this particular model?
I use a balance brewer myself http://coffeegeek.com/reviews/vacpots/cafetino but it works pretty much the same way (just side to side instead of up and down). I don’t know if I would say ‘best’ (I have 7 ways to brew & like them all), but it’s excellent.
The only thing I recommend is getting some extra cloth filters in case you can’t find them later when you need them. You also can’t leave it while brewing since the glass will break if you let it get too hot with the liquid in the top brewing chamber.
A siphon is an entertaining way to make delicious coffee. I’d definitely recommend either it or a french press.
