I am using martini glasses and heart shaped tealight’s as centerpieces! BUT?

should I put colored gems in the glasses (I am filling them with water and adding a floating candle) or white gems in the glasses? I am having white tableclothes with Alternating purple and blue table runners. should I alternate gems (opposite color of the runners) or just go with white?
