pale blue sky–night is coming fast
moon is present–bowing to the setting sun
waiting for his chance to be center stage
knowing stars will accent his beauty.
swirls of clouds as wisps of light cotton
reflect shades of red and purple hues,
tallest trees stretching to the heavens
decked out in shade of greens–deep & light.
crickets singing, frogs croaking, kittens playing…
How can a writer get anything done
with all these annoying distractions?
GEESH!
God replies in a gentle voice,
“You asked for some peace–
does this not satisfy…?”
I put my men down, grab a cup of coffee
watch as the waning moon gets brighter
and listen to the music of the night…
