Chances of Getting into Med School?
here are my specs:
-biochemistry/molecular biology major
-psychology minor
-3.63 GPA (raising to 3.66 at end of semester)
-made deans list and honor rolls numerous times
-member of 2 honor societies
-had a job looking after old people (required CPR)
-extracurriculars/volunteer experience-
pre-medical society president
intramural soccer team
ballroom dancing club
volunteered for 2 years at soup kitchen periodically
Co-coordinated volunteering for 1 year at a homeless shelter
shadowed an oncologist for 2 summers
went to guatemala for a month on a medical internship
-did research in two labs; one a neurobiology lab and one an organic chemistry lab working with anticancer products
I know it sounds like a lot but honestly speaking from your point of view, do I still have a shot? I’m taking my mcats next winter, planning to hopefully get above a 30.
