Can I swim in chlorinated water after dying my hair?
I dyed my hair brown using Liese hair dye (Milk Tea Brown). I didn’t use bleach and my hair was black. After dying it, my hair became a reeeally dark brown and you can only see the difference in my hair if there is bright light.
Tomorrow is Easter and I’m going to my aunt’s house and they have a pool. I really want to go swimming but my mom thinks that if I get inside, the chlorine will turn my hair green or some kind of color or make me go bald. Is this true? What will happen if I do go swimming in the pool? What can I do to prevent horrible things from happening to my hair if I do go swimming? Please be specific!
And if you need to know, by the time I (might) go swimming, I would have had my hair dyed for around 18 hours already.
blonde hair can go green, something to do with metals in the water, idk. but your hair will be fine. if you’re really freaked out, just wet your hair and work in a little conditioner before you swim.
