Green Tea…?
I wanted to start driking green tea and I remembered that I had a box of Lipton 100% all natural green tea bags in my pantry. When the tea was ready I took a sip and it didn’t taste like much. What’s green tea supposed to taste like? Could it just be the brand…or could it be that the tea bags are older (I’m not really sure how old, they had been there for a while) and not good anymore?
Actually, I boiled a mug’s worth of water by heating it up in the microwave and then poured it over the tea bag…would that have anything to do with it?
the water probably didn’t get hot enough. it’s supposed to get up to about 185 – 190 F. Heating water in a microwave isn’t very efficient. Use a tea kettle. And your tea bags might be stale, if they’ve been exposed to air for several years. If they are not sealed, that’s probably it.
