What is something cool to serve iced tea and lemonade in aside from basic pitchers?
For a tea party. My theme is hopefully a pleasant combination of the old school little girl victorian type and bright, youthful mad hatter style. Any other suggestions about decorations and etc are welcome.
Go to all the thrift/antique/junk shops in your town. Check out their arrays of platters, vases, and teapots. You may find some wild and wonderful, brightly colored teapots! If you do, serve your iced tea and lemonade in teapots! (If you don’t have luck thrifting, try Marshall’s and similar stores too!)
If you are very lucky, you might even find an amazing tablecloth. If you don’t, you can buy a nice long piece of fabric – try the upholstery fabric section too. Finish up the edges of the piece of fabric, and you have a tablecloth!
Drink from nontraditional glassware, like goblets or teacups, even though the tea is cold. Serve ice from a big soup tureen, with old fashioned ice tongs.
Mix and match the glassware/teacups/goblets, and mix up the napkins too. (Best: use all different colored cloth napkins!)
Serve tiny tea cakes and finger sandwiches. For a mad twist, perhaps make the cakes savory, and the sandwiches sweet!
