Is Russian Tea actually Russian?
You know that tea drink made out of instant tea, dry lemonade mix, dry orange mix (Tang) and spices.
Why is it called Russian tea??!
It is not actually from Russia, or Russian is it?
Where and why did it get this name?
The ingredients just seem bizarre…I doubt Russians had dry drink mix…of course they do now though
Is it a simplified/American version of an original recipe?
I don’t know…maybe it was just spiced tea with citrus juice there??
Umm, No. Russians do not drink that swill. They drink real tea – usually smokey, but real, full tea leaves – not instant tea with tang. I think it got that name the same way french toast is french – some random person attached a random country’s name to the tea. I actually gave my Russian friend Russian tea once as a joke. She was not amused. She couldn’t even drink it.
