Why should you drink 8 glasses of water a day, and not something like iced tea?

I don’t like drinking water, so I drink a lot of iced tea. Isnt that the same thing as drinking water, just with sugar?

The reason for drinking plain water is that it hydrates your body… any extra minerals included will also help with hydration… tea is an additive and it will make you more thirsty… or dehydrate you.
It is okay to drink tea occasionally, but it also has a negative effect on your kidneys…
I’ve heard that it is also fattening… and might cause arthritis… the certain acid in some teas can also eat away at your inner parts…. sick… but its no joke…
Water on the other hand, is also a purifier… and that’s why it is suggested… but you really don’t have to drink 8 glasses… 3-4 would work just fine, unless you do extreme activities…then 8 may be necessary…
