Anyone from Hawaii?? Is it okay to ship opened coffee to mainland?
I’d like to send a friend back home a “care” package with some really good coffee that I’ve ground at home and placed in a ziplock bag. With all the rules about not shipping produce and all, I wanted to make sure this was okay.
Yes, you can ship ground coffee to the mainland. I’ve done it often. My only suggestion is for for you to consider vacuum sealing the package or, at the very least, heat sealing it. In doing so, the flavour of the coffee will last longer.
The ideal way is to send whole bean coffee and have your friend grind it himself.
