Is Gourmet Cat Food from Purina considered a Premium Cat Food?
Anyone can help please… i`m searching for a good food to give to my cat, where i live we do not have food such as Wellness and Evo which are known to be the best premium cat food. Here we have food such as Friskies, Whiskas, Gourment, Felix anything from Purina, Iams, Royal Canin and Walmart.
My cats are both fussy eaters, and they want only Gourment Gold. Does anyone know details about how much phosphorus and other stuff it contains. I tried to search online to no avail…

I live in Malta (central europe) and no we do not receive Wellness i even contacted them to try and ship them over, but they refused.
What we have here is mainly Purina, Iams, Whiskas and similar things… that is why i`m inquiring online to see if maybe i can find some other alternatives to my cats diet…
Gavin, moisture isn’t a bad thing when it comes to wet canned food. If you knew anything about cats, you’d know that biologically, they don’t have a very strong thirst drive and so many require getting their daily intake of water solely through their food. Some vets would say that a cat who drinks water is dehydrated. Many cats do not/will not drink water, and when they do it’s not very much, so it’s imperative that these cats especially get canned food to be sure they’re getting enough water.
Anything from Purina is pretty bad. (This pet FOOD company also makes a whole host of cat LITTER.) Don’t be fooled by words like “gourmet” or “organic” or “all natural” — it can still be full of grains and fillers. I looked online — it’s strange to me that you can’t find the ingredients readily listed for the product on their website, and I am having trouble finding it from other sources as well. A good company isn’t afraid to hide this information and will have it right on their site.
Where do you live? I find it hard to believe that you can’t find any grain-free foods to feed your cat in your area. I’m in the boondocks of Maine and I still manage to find pet stores that sell Wellness. Look in your Yellow Pages or Google for Pet Food/Supply Stores near you. Many of the major chain supermarkets don’t carry good food, but there are usually local shoppes that do.
