Many people use temporary coffee filters made of paper for various reasons. However, it is possible to find permanent coffee filters and they carry many advantages over the temporary ones. The first advantage is that they last long for you do not have to discard them regularly. This means that once you buy one permanent coffee filter, you are done. Some coffee making machines come with permanent filters but others do not.
The good thing about permanent filters is that they will save you money in the end. To illustrate this, you can get a package of temporary filters for three dollars and it will last for probably a month. On the other hand, you can see that getting a permanent filter for ten dollars will be more economical in three months time.
There are many types of permanent coffee filters. One type is the gold filter, which carries many advantages even though it is more expensive than the others are. This filter also does not filter the oils in the coffee beans, which contain antioxidants.
The other type of permanent coffee filters available is made of plastic or hemp. They made from plastic are affordable depending on their size and structure. You can find plastic coffee filters that are gold plated for a good neutral flavor after filtering the coffee. An example of such a filter is the Krups filter whose prices range from six to thirteen dollars. You can also get permanent coffee filters made of stainless steel. They are efficient and durable and therefore a good consideration.
You can also find permanent coffee filters made from hemp that is a durable natural material and does not contribute much to environmental degradation. Whatever your choice is in selecting the material for a coffee filter, be sure that it is more practical to use permanent coffee filters.
