Who Knows About Portholes?
I inherited a porthole coffee table. It’s a 16″ porthole, mounted on three legs machined out of solid brass or bronze. On one side of the porthole are the letters “W.U.B.”. On the other side of the porthole is the number “400″. I’m pretty sure the “400″ is the diameter measured in millimeters. Also, on the glass, it says “SI-DIN”, and then underneath that, “Sekurit”. I’m pretty sure Sekurit is a glass company. So, my question is, can anyone tell me the possible origin of this porthole, and the type of ship it was installed on?
Thanks,
Chris
