KHAN – “Space Shanty” (one of the Greatest Prog-Fusion-Psych Albums, EVER !!)

Undoubtedly “L” and “Green”. He really lets rip on ‘Hurdy Gurdy Man’ and ‘It’s All Too Much’… I reckon “Live Herald” was patchy and badly recorded. All his stuff with Gong he plays organically with the other members.Haven’t heard ‘Khan’.Loved the ‘Flying Tea-Pot Series’ ..’it’s a hassle you know to make a spaceship fly to infinity’ and ‘Shamal’..’the cat in clark’s shoes’. (What I did once,for what it’s worth,with a ghetto blaster was to tape “Rainbow Dome Musick” then overlay it with a spoken/read “Animal Farm”,Steve Miller’s ’68 tune ‘Song For Our Ancestors’(an instrumental with fog horns and bells etc) and Floyd’s “Animals” scattered about with some Welles’ “War of the Worlds” radio broadcast.) Me..I like to crank up “It’s All Too Much”.
**You could check out Tasavallan Presidentii,a Scandanavian band,with an excellent guitarist Jukka Tolonen…very similar to Gong and of the same era..which,is Timeless.**
