Interior Designer – help needed please

Hi There
I desperatly need some help from any interior designers out there. My boyfriend and I have recently moved into a new home. Unfortunately we are both rubbish when it comes to putting things together. We like modern/contemporary and need help with our living room. Here goes:
The room is very square shaped and so far we have:
Walls – magnolia
Carpets – very light beige
We have a dark navy blue fabric sofa (almost black) and a mirrored glass coffee table standing on a rug 2 tones darker than the carpet.
We have a fireplace and the tele above fireplace. The problem is we need to store DVD player, sky box and nintendo box. I would like to ‘hide’ these but someone suggested making a feature out of it in the corner of the room. Please can someone help with regards what type of unit we would need or any other ideas please. I would be very grateful. Thank you in advance. Links/pictures would be great xx
