Can someone help with this calculus problem…?
Coffee is draining from a conical filter (diameter and height both 6 inches) into a cyliindrical coffee pot (diameter is 6 inches). The rate at which the coffee drains from the filter into the pot is 10in^3 per minute.
How fast is the level in the pot rising when the coffee in the cone is 5 inches deep?
how fast is the level of coffee in the cone falling at that moment?

think about it…it is somewhat trivial if you know the volume of a cylinder and of a cone…both volumes are changing at the same absolute rate , 19 in^3…VP = π r² h= π 9 h—> dVP / dt = 9π dh / dt = 10, find dh / dt
VC = [1/3] π r² h and you are given that h = 2r { initial r = 3 & h = 6} ,
so VC = [1/3] π [(h^3)/4]—> dVC / dt = π h² / 4 dh / dt = 10..compute dh / dt when h = 5…now why could you not do this ?
