Healthy Eating On A Budget?
Healthy Eating on a Budget? I’m looking at a Grocery Bill of about $100/month. It doesn’t sound like “Enough” money, I know. But I’m a BIG FAN re: Comparison Shopping. I like Oatmeal with fruit, pastas, peanut butter & jelly, and some vegetables, a burger with some vegetable and (smallish) amount of fries. I’m trying to steer clear from Canned Vegetables, when possible. On days I have class, I don’t have time to really cook, hence Oatmeal, PBJ sandwiches, or re-heated pasta with a vegetable. I do go out for lunch or dinner, but only about 2x a month. I’ve also heard that DIET sodas are AWFUL for you. I’m a fan of coffee, which I make at home, with flavored creamer, as to watch Sugar intake. I also carry a water bottle or traveler’s mug with me. I ussually have an orange or bananna or baby carrots in between meals. Thanks in advance for your advice!
Try to find a bulk food store. You can get oatmeal, rice, pasta, and even peanut butter there for much cheaper than grocery stores.
Buy meat when it is on sale and freeze the extras.
Buy fruit that is on sale and cut up and freeze to be used for smoothies.
Don’t buy crap like soda and candy.
