Which is better Electric tea maker or coffee percolator? also can it work as tea maker?
The electric tea maker is best especially if it has a temperature setting. If you are drinking green and white teas you never want to use boiling water as it will affect the taste and aroma of the tea. Only pu’erh and red (black) teas should use water at the boiling point. Green teas and oolongs should be around 170-190f and white tea water temps should never exceed 150f.
As for using a percolator for tea this is never advisable as the water recycles over and over again making the tea bitter and acidic. A drip coffee maker would be a better alternative to a percolator.
Best to use an electric tea kettle for the water and pour it over the loose tea to let it steep.
