If you’re an adventurous coffee drinker, Keurig Single Serve Coffee Brewers are perfect for you! With a Keurig Coffee Maker you can have a different kind of coffee with every cup you drink, instead of every pot. For the Keurig brand, the single serve coffee packets are known as Keurig K Cups. These compact efficient servings are available in many different brands and blends. The three biggest producers who have teamed with Keurig to produce K-Cups are Green Mountain Coffee, Gloria Jean coffee and Timothy’s World coffee.
Green Mountain Coffee is one of the most popular K-Cup producers in America as they use many different types of coffee in their blends, from classic Arabica to the more exotic Kona. Green Mountain Coffee’s most popular flavors are their Breakfast Blend, Nantucket Blend and the Double Black Diamond Extra Bold Blend. Green Mountain Coffee’s Breakfast Blend is perfect for those who want very mild coffee that’s very crisp and subtle. Green Mountain Coffee’s Nantucket Blend is the next step up from their Breakfast Blend in terms of boldness and it offers a little bit more body with a nice nutty finish. Finally, another favorite is Green Mountain’s Double Black Diamond Extra Bold. This very dark coffee is rich with undertones of cocoa and smokiness. The Double Black Diamond is reserved for those who especially enjoy dark coffee and is one of the best dark coffees we’ve ever tasted.
The second most favorite K-Cup producer is Gloria Jean’s Coffee, which has more focus on seasonal and Arabica blends. Gloria Jean’s most popular K-Cup is their Special Blend Coffee that’s comparable to a medium Breakfast Blend. The Special Blend K-Cup has a more flavorful smoky cedar finish than the other breakfast blends on the market. Two other popular Gloria Jean’s Coffee K-Cups are the Cappuccino Coffee K-Cup and Black Gold Extra Bold K-Cup. Gloria Jean’s Coffee Cappuccino Coffee K-Cup delivers a medium roast with moderate cinnamon undertones. The Black Gold Extra Bold Coffee K-Cup delivers a dark roast that packs an acidic punch without to much bitterness. Note well, the Black Gold is a lighter dark roast and is not as dark as the Double Black Diamond.
Another great K-Cup producer for dark coffee lovers is Timothy’s World Coffee. Three of our favorite Timothy’s World Coffee blends are their Rainforest Espresso Blend, Nicaraguan Fair Trade Organic Blend and Italian blend. Timothy’s World Coffee Rainforest Espresso blend is a unique mix between a medium roast and dark roast. Rainforest Espresso is smooth and moderately acidic, but packs quite a punch in terms of deep cedar flavors. Of all the Nicaraguan blends on the market, Timothy’s World Coffee Nicaraguan Fair Trade Organic Blend is the best. Timothy’s Nicaraguan is very deep and rich but doesn’t have the bittersweet tannic aftertaste characteristic of poorly produced Nicaraguan beans. Best of all, Timothy’s Nicaraguan K-Cup is fair trade and organic certified. Finally, Timothy’s World Coffee Italian Blend K-Cup has an initially sweet smoky taste that finishes like a medium roast coffee.
