Is there any industry movement for standardizing coffee capsules (one capsule size to fit all machines, etc.)?

I found out that Nespresso capsules wouldn’t fit with other machines. I hope there is any effort within the industry for the unification of capsule size and machine configuation, etc. Do you know of any of such movement?? thanks.

Probably won’t standardize because there is more profit to be made if they’re NOT standardized.
