Tell me what you think of this poem I wrote…please!
Amarillo webs string through the city
commercials air through the foggy sky
rocking back and forth, twisting in the double decker
and over the smell of the fishy bay and the listless tourists
Oh! The pain of being here for so short a time
under the stairs of a Broadway performance
Never has cheesecake tasted so delectable
the neon lights glowing upon the chocolate desserts
zebras run upon the stage along with dancing gazelles
Impossible to feel all of this at once
Street performers hopping on hands playing with unnamed instruments
A homeless woman with a baby at her hip
Bystanders watching the morning news with never-failing coffee
Impossible to feel all of this at once
Inside the red walled restaurant
Chicken rice memories are calling my name
Home again
