Yes, I will join you for coffee, but. . .?
Jake and Danica both volunteer at the county hospital on Saturdays. They work every week, but they don’t know each other very well.
One day, Jake sees Danica in the hallway and asks if she’d like to join him, on their day off, at a coffee house for a cup of coffee. She says, “Um, OK, but are there any strings attached?”
“No. Just you and me, and we’ll get together and we’ll chat over a cup of coffee.” says Jake.
“Well, um, OK”, says Danica, “But only on one condition.”
So, Danica tells him the condition.
Jake asks, “Um, does that have anything to do with wind-mills and wooden shoes?”
She says, “No, silly!”
Why did Jake ask Danica if it had anything to do with wind-mills and wooden shoes?
Because she wanted to go “Dutch”. She would pay her own way, thus assuring that there are no strings attached. Great for a first date.
