My dog got into a bowl of pistachios?
I came home from work and found that my dog had gotten into a bowl of pistachios we left on the coffee table. I think she had worked the shells off and only eaten the nut since there was a pile of shells left on the floor. I think she might have eaten 20 to 30 though! She weighs around 14 lbs.
She seems to be more thirsty than usual (the pistachio’s were salted) but besides that, she’s been very playful and ate all her dinner.
I know macadamia nuts are poisonous to dogs, but does any one know how they react to pistachios?? Do I need to be worried??
I’ve never heard that pistachio nuts are harmful to dogs. I’m guessing that if your pup was allergic to nuts, you would know it by now! I used to give my dogs a few pistachio nuts when I would munch on them, it never hurt them. Unless she is allergic to them, I think your pup will be ok!
