To all coffee lovers…Starbucks or Coffee Bean?

I’m a coffee addict and was just wondering how many of you think Starbucks coffee is better than Coffee Bean or vice versa? Or if you think there is a better place 2 get my daily shot of caffeine, may I know the name of the store? And which coffee type is your favourite?

Save your money and don’t buy either. Instead, get a good French roast, or another dark one, from the local grocery store, making sure it’s whole-bean. Get yourself a one-cup coffee cone and filters to go with it. Also find an electric coffee/nut grinder and you’re set to go.

At home, grind a couple of grinderfuls of beans to a fine grind. Start with about 1/2 tsp. of the ground coffee in the filter and the filter in the cone. Moisten the coffee thoroughly with boiling-hot water. Wait at least 30 seconds, then fill the cone with water and let all of the water drip through into your cup. Sweeten or do to it whatever you wish and you’ll have better, cheaper coffee by far than any you can buy at either of the two places you’ve mentioned.

You may have to experiment with the measurements of the coffee in order to find just how much to use for your taste. I use almost a tbsp. per cup for myself. But most people find that way too strong.

If you have trouble finding the cone or a cup to fit the cone, try Melita on the net. You’ll be saving about seventy bucks per pound of coffee making it at home. Worth considering, right?

Good luck.
