I’m too stupid to figure out how to order a coffee in a coffee shop. Help?
I almost never drink coffee and therefore don’t know what the hell I’m doing. I don’t need to know the weird Starbucks terminology or whatever (I don’t go to Starbucks anyway, there isn’t one near me). I just need to know how to order a normal coffee, one of the flavored ones since I don’t really like coffee that much. When I go into a coffee shop I just point at one of the five or so coffee dispenser things they have lined up and hand them my thermos.
However. I know they change what those coffee dispenser things are each day. So if I want a flavor they had some previous day, am I able to order that, even if it isn’t premade in one of those dispensers? And does each flavor come with a predetermined roast (I think that’s what it’s called? Like medium vs. dark etc.) or do you have to specify which roast you want? I only like lighter coffees, so how would I tell the person what I want if I have to specify?
You are not stupid, they deliberately make it difficult. I just order exactly what I want – a black coffee – when I go in these places; what daft name they want to call it is their concern. And they should be there to help you out if they want your service, not mock your ignorance.
