Office Folks…When clients send you small gifts for your office desk….?
When clients send you small gifts for your desk, such as coffee cups, pens, mouse pads, small calendar, roledex/business cards, letter openers and such, with their business name and telephone number on them…..Which items do you use? Which items do you like best? Or any suggestions that would help our business grow? Thanks!
If you want to send a thank you gift to a client, send food. Something as simple as a can of gourmet popcorn or box of candy or cookies. That way it can be shared around the office. Nobody really wants coffee mugs or mouse pads or pens…they just end up in a drawer or given away. Think about what YOU use in your office…don’t you already have a favorite brand of pen you use, or a mouse pad that’s been there for a few years and is still perfectly usable, or a favorite coffee mug you always use? So do other people. Give a gift YOU’D like to get and one that will cause others to talk about you. Everybody likes food and others in the office will ask “where did this come from?” Nobody asks where a pen came from. Also, depending on how big a client is you can customize the gift to suit them. Your biggest clients should get a nice gift basket, your smaller clients get a smaller but still nice gift.
This is my opinion, based on working in different offices for 20+ years and also having had my own business.
