Can I mail a single tea bag from the US to Germany?
I have a penpal in Germany and we were discussing tea and coffee. I want to mail her a bag of tea that I especially enjoy. I was wondering if I can just include it in the envelope (since it wont be that thick it shouldn’t be any problem in shipping) or is there some issue with sending it because it is considered “food.” I was looking at German Customs regulations but I can only find information on sending gift boxes full of food. Also, the Deutsche Post doesn’t seem to talk about this matter either.
How do I mail a tea bag to Germany?
I would put it between two pieces of cardboard (say, from a cut-up cereal box) and mail it in a small padded envelope. The German customs and Deutsche Post won’t care about one tea bag! And I mail small food items to Europe all the time. I would be more concerned about the tea bag rupturing and spilling tea all over the envelope if you just throw it in a plain envelope.
