Why do I feel so nervous for no reason?
I have a history of anxiety, but have had no symptoms for a long time. For the past 2 days I’ve had an intense feeling of “butterflies” in my stomach, almost to the point of making me sick. If I concentrate on the feeling, I start sweating and my heart starts beating faster (classic fight or flight response, but there’s no stimuli to bring it on). It came on for no reason and now it won’t go away. I just feel insanely nervous and there’s no reason for it, it’s very frustrating. I had a frappe from McDonalds earlier, and it seemed to make it a lot worse (because of the caffeine I’m guessing). What can I do to make this stop?! It’s to the point that I’m almost crying because it won’t go away. 
Lol, the few times I’ve smoked weed it totally made me freak OUT. I’m a naturally paranoid person, so being high is hell for me. 
I guess I should just go to the doctor…
Perhaps you are stressed about something in your life that’s not too apparent? Such as finals? A difficult family situation? Also, you’re right caffeine and other stimulants cause anxiety or make it worse. This includes stimulant based meds like Adderall and Wellbutrin, so if you’ve recently started taking stimulants or increased your intake, that’s a likely cause. (nicotine as well, contrary to popular opinion) Also lack of sleep usually cases an increase in anxiety, so get more sleep if possible.
The easiest way to deal with anxiety is to Exercise! Specifically intense cardio such as running, fast swimming, elliptical,etc. Or even brisk walking if that’s a workout for you. I am not entirely sure why, but it works, and the endorphins make you feel good. You need to exercise for at least 30 minutes for it to have a long lasting effect. If you can, an hour is better. Also, Taking a few deep breaths or some form of meditation if you know how to do it.
