CONFUSED…your not alone…?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/hsn/20070517/hl_hsn/manyamericansconfusedaboutcancersurvey
67% of Americans drink to get drunk…
50% of Americans believe a lottery ticket is a better retirement plan than a 401(K), or higher education(oh, yes, Please Play Responsibly…)
37% of American would change their car based on…a cup holder location!
Yet we have no problem shelling out $5.00 for a bad cup of coffee, but blame the oil industry that never put a gun to our heads to drive a vehicle we cannot afford to feed.
With a country that is less intelligent than previous generations(and sadly lacking in any real math/science background, which promotes something called critical thinking), it’s no wonder we are “confused”.
I hate how every generation gets more and more young alcoholics. Drinking a little wine or whatever is okay, when you know how to control yourself, but I would say that 90% of my friends/acquaintances regularly drink to get drunk. It’s so sad. It’s like instead of trying to do anything to improve the world, or at least themselves, they just get drunk and forget about it.
The lottery is a bunch of hogwash, pure and simple. I buy a scratch off ticket a few times a year at most because my grandma likes them.
That’s pretty pathetic about cupholders. *shakes head* I wish I could afford to be frivolous like that. Not that I would be if I was that rich – money and cars aren’t that important …
Although I think people could benefit from better math/science education, I don’t think it’s the be-all, end-all of critical thinking. I am interested in science, but I stink at math, but I happen to think I am a little more well rounded morally than most of my peers.
All in all … let’s move to Canada!
