What is so Special about Pod Coffee Makers?

How many times have you poured a cup of coffee only to find it is old and stale? Most likely, this has happened to you more than once. Many people go ahead and drink the coffee simply because they do not want to be wasteful. Others may throw out the coffee and waste hundreds of dollars on the grounds, the filters, the water and the electricity it takes to run the machine.

For people who prefer their coffee fresh, not burnt, and easy to brew, there is another option. Recently, pod coffee makers have become quite popular. These machines use single serving sets of coffee grounds, enclosed in a pod shaped filter. With these machines, one cup of coffee is brewed at a time. By brewing only one serving, you can avoid wasting coffee, drinking stale coffee, or choking over the burnt remains in the pot.

Of course, the very ability of these pod coffee makers can be reason enough to purchase one. However, there are more things to consider. One of the frustrating things with a standard coffee machine is that they can be hard to clean. The filter keeper must be cleaned on a regular basis or grounds can end up in the pot. The pot itself has to be washed after each brew.

If you have ever let your coffee maker sit for a while, then you know the frustration of scrubbing burnt rings off the hot plate and out of the coffee pot. Pod coffee makers are easy to clean and they create virtually no mess.

An additional reason why these coffee machines are so special is that they eliminate the filters and measuring. You will no longer have to spend time measuring out grounds, trying to keep your can of grounds fresh, and dealing with pesky filters. That individual pod is filter and coffee in one. You will only need to place the pod in the machine, and you are ready to go.

There are many reasons why people are choosing pod coffee makers over other options. It is important to remember that these machines can be much more expensive than the standard coffee maker. However, the difference in taste of the coffee and the amount of time you will save cleaning, scraping, measuring and pouring will by far make up the difference. Pod coffee makers can be an excellent choice for people who only want one cup of coffee at a time.
