bubble tea is an Asian drink, but is gaining popularity in the U.S.. I posted a link to a video and a recipe for bubble tea below. Video on how to make bubble tea: http://video.about.com/chinesefood/How-to-Make-Cold-Bubble-Tea.htm recipe for bubble tea: Feel free to adjust the recipe for bubble tea base according to their own tea and taste preferences. Ingredients: * 3 ounces tapioca pearls * sugar syrup 1 cup brewed tea (Chinese black tea or lychee tea is good) * 1 cup milk (to taste) * Ice cubes * 1 part Tapioca Pearls * * Pearl tapioca 4 parts (or more) of water * sugar syrup * 2 parts white sugar * 1 part brown sugar to 3 parts water * Preparation: * Prepare syrup tapioca pearls (see below). * Prepare the tapioca pearls (see below) * Place the tapioca pearls in large glass jar Let the tea to cool to room temperature. Add milk. Add the sugar syrup, milk and mix the tea and ice cubes to a shaker and shake well. (Alternatively can be processed in a blender, but that's not so much fun!) Pour the mixture into the cup tapioca pearls.Serve shaken with a thick straw. To make the tapioca pearls: When making tapioca pearls, which are the main ingredient in bubble tea in Asia, please note that the pearls expand considerably when cooked. Please make sure that uses a large pot. (As a rule, the more pearls cooked, the more water should be used, ie the ratio of water to the Pearl will be higher. To 3kgs of pearls, we recommend using up to 6 times more water). Boil water. Add the pearls to the boiling water and boil for 30 minutes. Stir occasionally to make sure that pearls are not sticking together or with the boat. Turn off heat and let the pearls steep in the water for another 30 minutes with the lid of the pot. Drain the tapioca pearls and rinse with cold water until cool. Place them in sugar syrup (sugar and water solution – see below). Make sure the beads are covered. Stir the pearls well. The pearls are now ready to enjoy. To make the syrup: In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add sugar. Reduce heat and heat until sugar crystals dissolve. Remove from heat. Note: Please feel free to experiment with the proportion of white sugar sugar brown, and the relationship between sugar and water. Enjoy!
