Do you have any tried and true alternatives to the classic green bean casserole?
We have done green bean casserole every Thanksgiving and Christmas for years, and we’re definitely ready for a change. Since this is for a holiday meal, I’m looking for recipes that are tried and true. Help!
We make an awesome broccoli cheese casserole.
You need:
2 boxes frozen chopped broccoli
1 16 oz jar cheese whiz
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 cups uncooked rice
1 cup millk
salt and pepper if desired
Cook the rice. Dump it into a casserole dish. Add the thawed broccoli, the soup, the cheese and the chopped vegs.
Stir until its all evenly mixed. Stir in the milk to thin it down. Bake it in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes. When its cheesy and bubbly, it is done.
We love this stuff.
