Should I add my ex – bestfriend on facebook? Or just dont talk to her?

Me and her use to be best friends since KINDERGARTEN!! And in 6th grade (we we’re going into 7th, this was in the summer..) and I know it had to be something about a boy or two, but then it couldn’t (because I don’t remember), and BAM! We we’re arguing. And my cousin got into the conversation because she was “defending” me (I didn’t realize how stupid I was till like this year, I should of told her to stay out of it) and it led to her mom telling me that she didn’t want me speaking to her anymore. I didn’t curse at her. But my cousin was, and she started saying she was a “bean pole” ?? But I seen her on facebook the other day and I just wanted to tell her hi.. But I know that might seem awkward and that she would think I just want to be her friend again after two years of not talking to each other.. But I don’t know what to do

this is awkward, 2 best friends , a huge argument where others got involved and bam u r nt friends any longer, pity, send her a msg first and if she answers then she wants to rekindle ure friendship even if it is angry words at first try to tell her how sorry u feel that things turned out this way, tell her that even if u agree that u gurls shouldnt be friends anymore then atleast u should end the friendship in a nicer fashion. maybe she still feels the way u do. anyway 2 yrs is a long time to hold a grudge and it is nt healthy 4 either of u.
