What is the average price of Thai Silk over at Jim Thompson?
I’ll be in Bangkok in a few days and I was wondering if anyone knows about the price of silk over at Jim Thompson, as I hear it could be expensive. I’m only looking for apparel fabric, not upholstery fabric (which I assume would cost a lot more).
Also, if you would know any other fabric stores/ sources that would sell authentic silk (all natural, 100% silk), please lead me in that direction as well. For sure I’ll be at the Chatuchak weekend market. Can I expect to buy pure silk in there?

Nowadays, Jim Thompson is a brand name selling silk products retail. So, expensive.
For wholesalers in Bangkok, try visit the Shinawatra shop (yes, same family tree as the ex-prime minister) in Sukhumvit Soi 23 (or actually, in a cross-soi connecting 23 with 31).
To get closer to the source, travel to Chiang Rai or Chiang Mai.
You can also buy silk a “local markets” like the weekend market, but 100% silk doesn’t mean it is of super quality. You get what you pay for.
