How much is my antique triple-plated silver serving set by Pelton Bros & Co worth?
I just purchased a triple-plated silver serving set by Pelton Bros. and Co. It includes the tea/coffee pot, creamer, sugar canister, and waste container. They have the lids. It is engraved with an arts and crafts style flower design, with the engraved initials of the original owner. It has busts of women on the handles. It is in excellent mint condition, and the guy said it was from the 1800s. All four pieces are stamped on the bottom “Pelton Bros. & Co, St. Louis, Triple Plate” and the serial number ’1874.’ I believe these are all the pieces that would come in the set. The guy I purchased it from said it’s worth $500-$800. I just think it’s beautiful, so I don’t plan on selling it, so the value doesn’t really matter too much to me. I guess I’m just curious to see if this guy was pulling my leg. Thanks for the help!
Probably a small fortune,i go to ebay and look at stuff, you know just to get an idea of the junk i have laying around. So go to the bay and see if you can find it and see what the people are asking.Just for fun go to the bay and see.Bye.
