How long does a new and unopened bag of unground coffee beans last???
I just bought a few bags of beans from Starbucks. I hear that once opened, they have 3 weeks. What about unopened? Can I just store them? Do I need to place them in an airtight container once I open the bags? Thanks!
The second the bag is opened they start to loose flavor. Once opened move the beans to an airtight container. I like large flip top jars.
Unopened… You have to remember that a lot of these bags have been sitting in warehouses for months already. I’d look closely for an expiration date on the package… it never lasts long enough in my house to worry about it. After that I wouldn’t keep it around for more than a month or two.
What ever you do don’t freeze it! Freezing kills the flavor faster than anything.
