Coffee maker problems? My coffee suddenly started tasting funny?
I have a very nice Cuisinart Brew Central Coffee Maker DCC-1200. It’s about 4 years old. But I bought some off-brand coffee and it just tasted awful, kindy of watery and strange taste. I thought it was the brand.
I bought my regular brand, quality French Roast Maxwell House, but it’s still tastes strange — kind of moldy. I washed out the filter and the plastic holder part under the filter and brewed a pot of hot water and it still tastes that way.
Any ideas?

Where the hot water/coffee comes out, unscrew the little cap. Get a nylon wire tie approx 8″ long and run up the brewing tube, twisting and turning it. As mentioned above, run vinegar through it several times. Flush with fresh water. That should take care of it.
